Linda Gail Kasper (nee Smerychynski)

April 4, 1952 ~ December 16, 2021

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Kasper announce her passing after a long battle with cancer at the age of 69 years on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Linda will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her husband of 48 years, John; her three children, Kimberly Kasper, Bradley (Amber) Kasper, Kristopher (Laura) Kasper; three grandchildren, Sloan, Micah and Clive Kasper; her sister, Judy (Alex) Pirie; brother, Leslie Smerychynski; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Linda was predeceased by her mom and dad, Kay (nee Zawalykut) and Sylvester Smerychynski.

Due to circumstanced surrounding COIVD 19, a private viewing has taken place with cremation to follow.

Violet Theresa Knezacek (nee Rigg)
1937 ~ 2021

Violet Theresa Knezacek (nee Rigg) of Edmonton, Alberta daughter of the late Joseph and Sally Rigg passed away on December 8, 2021 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital at the age of 84 years, after a long battle with COPD and other underlying issues. She was with her eldest children and able to say goodbye through video message to all her family.

Vi was always a strong, determined and independent woman. She immigrated to Canada in 1955 at age 18, from St. Annes on sea Lancashire, England. She always said it was one of the best decisions she’d ever made. She married and had 7 children. She eventually became a professional driver and was the first transit driver in Fort McMurray, Alberta. She retired in Edmonton, Alberta where she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was survived by her daughter, Linda (David Densmore); sons, Terry (Tammy Cummer), Joseph (granddaughter Victoria), Robert (Brenda Knezacek); brother, Michael Rigg,; sisters, Jacqueline Townsend, Elizabeth Betts ; As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by daughter, Peggy Knezacek; sons, Lloyd and Michael Knezacek; grandson, Michael (little mike) Knezacek; sister, Pam Howarth; and ex husband, Lenard Knezacek.

 

Violet left in peace, doing it her way.
We will all carry her strength in our hearts forever.

 

As to her wishes, cremation will take place with no service or visitation. She will be laid to rest at a later date.

Richard Joseph Kroetsch
1945 to 2021

Rick passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 20th. He will live on forever in the hearts of many including partner, Lynne; stepdaughters, Susan (Mark) and Sheila (Dale). He was affectionately referred to as “Popa” by his five grandchildren, Isabella, Ava, Angelina, Paige, and Ryan.

Rick was the youngest of ten children and spent his early years on the farm in Strome, Alberta. He is survived by his brother, Ed and wife Gwen; sisters, Catherine and Donna; sister-in-law, Doris; and Lynne’s sister, Jill. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret (Andre Borle); brothers, Martin (Hilda), Father Tom, Lorne, John (Rosa) and Father Don.

Rick was a very charming and genuine person who was blessed with a loving family and many life-long friends. His sharp wit and great sense of humour always made time spent with Rick very memorable. His passions ranged from planes and aviation to playing bridge and golf. After retiring as an accountant and business owner, Rick and Lynne lived out their golden years travelling the world, enjoying their winter home in Sun City West, playing bridge, and enjoying friends and family.

Rick would always end conversation with a warm smile and say … “we be talkin”

Chester Gordon McBride
September 27, 1939 ~ November 21, 2021

It is with sadness the family of Chester Gordon McBride announce his passing on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie (nee Strid) McBride; son, Trevor (Anneliese) McBride; 2 daughters, Lana and Tammy; grandchildren, Blakely and Bodie; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.

 

 

 

Samantha Eve Gauthier
April 25, 1997 ~ October 27, 2021

Sam was taken to soon and will be missed like crazy by all who knew and loved her. She leaves a big hole in the hearts of her mother, Lynette Gauthier; step dad, Kevin Smith; father, Darryl Gauthier; her brothers, Jack, James, Gavin, Dylan, Mason and Kevin; her grandparents, Philip and Iris Williams, Brenda Smith and Randy Sherrard; boyfriend, Matt Laviolette. She will be missed by her aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends, who will no longer have anyone to debate with.
