April 30, 1929 – January 6, 2026

Constance “Ruth” Mulligan was born on April 30, 1929, in Abee, Alberta, to Kenneth and Mary McGregor. She was the eldest of six children, following the loss of her brother Bob.

In 1952, Ruth married Earl Mulligan, fulfilling her dream of marrying a farmer. Together they built a successful farming business and raised three children.

Ruth was known for her quiet nature, warm hospitality, and kindness. She loved the fall — her favourite season — which meant spending countless hours combining the fields and taking in the beauty of the harvest. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gardening.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Connie (Tom) Barrett, Barbara (Jim) Dowhaniuk, and Murray (Rhonda) Mulligan, as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband Earl; her parents Mary and Ken McGregor; siblings Bob, Neil, Brian, and Carol; brothers-in-law Allan, Glenn, Bruce, and Tom; sisters-in-law Lorraine, Blanche, and Mary; and parents-in-law Phyllis and Raymond Mulligan.

Left to mourn her passing are her sister Joyce, her sister-in-law Peggy Mulligan, her sister-in-law Rikka McGregor, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family also wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Ruth’s devoted caregiver, Diane Elzinga, whose presence in Ruth’s life was deeply appreciated.

She packed much living into 96 years and will be deeply missed.

A small private memorial will be held in the spring.
