Frederick Lynn Meldrum was born on March 10, 1951, in Brooks, Alberta. He passed away on January 8, 2026, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Fred attended Lethbridge College, where he trained as a meat cutter—a career he truly loved and proudly dedicated over 50 years to. In 1977, he married Debbie Olson, and together they built a beautiful life in Edmonton, Alberta, raising their two children.

Fred was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed bowling golfing, camping, playing cards, travelling, and spending time with family and friends. Above all else, he treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Meldrum; his son Steven Meldrum (Jessica); his daughter Lisa Miller (Trevor); his cherished grandchildren Zoey Meldrum, Xander Miller, and Brady Miller; his brother Bryan Meldrum (Sandy); as well as nieces and nephews.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, David Lee Meldrum, Jessie (née Roblin) Meldrum and siblings, Lyle Lalonde, Diane (née LaLonde) Mantler, and Douglas Meldrum.

Fred will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his quiet strength, kindness, and love for his family.
