September 26, 1939 to February 25, 2026

Donna passed away peacefully at the Sturgeon Community Hospital with family by her side. Donna was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to her parents Fred and Rosalie Wilson and second in line to brother Jack and younger sister Carla. Donna was the last survivor in her immediate family.

Donna’s father was transferred to Yorkton, Saskatchewan where Donna completed her high school diploma. During her 16 th birthday party she met and fell for Dale, the feeling seemed mutual, because two months later they started dating. Which in time led to their engagement, and finally their marriage on July 4, 1959.

Donna worked at the bank until her first child was delivered on September 28, 1960. She was a stay-at-home Mom and held that position until the children were in their teens. Her wish was to be at the house when the children returned from play or school. She always wanted to be there for her children and she was.

Because of Dale’s work they were transferred eight times by his employer, which meant a different house, new neighbours and unfamiliar city, but she never complained. Dale’s last transfer was back west, to St. Albert, where he would retire in August 1997. Retirement meant a different lifestyle where they could spend more time together, either doing yard work, travelling locally, or taking trips to the United States, Hawaii, and cruises.

With her passing she leaves behind her husband of 66 years, Dale; children, Grant of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Tammy (Clyde) Buchanan of St. Albert, Alberta, and Wendy of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory; three grandchildren, Dwight (Lisa) of Martensville, Saskatchewan, Shalane (Darrin Bruck) Sharples of Airdrie, Alberta, and Daniel (Juel) Sharples of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory; seven great grandchildren, Aerys, Talan, Kellan, Nixon, and Kaiser Sharples and Jaxton and Rowan Bruck; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Donna was a great friend to many, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful, loving and forgiving partner for all those many years.

She will be missed by all who knew her. Thank you all who touched Donna’s heart through the years. We look forward to connecting with so many of the people she loved.
