March 19, 1971 ~ June 4, 2020

We are saddened by the sudden passing of our dad, brother, uncle, friend, and co-worker Alfred Schick on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at the age of 49 years.

Alf was a father to four children who he loved unconditionally, Hayden, Nate, Shaylynn and Tianna; brother to, William (Patty), Sharon (Craig), Bev (Charles), Kathy (Ralph), Mark, Wilfred (Gloria), Brenda, Scott (Janice) and Clark (Carleea); he will also be remembered by numerous extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father, Alfred Schick; mother, Patricia (nee Hickman) Chizen; and step father, Tony Chizen.

Alf was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Alfred and Pat Schick on March 19, 1971. He was the youngest of ten children. He was a die hard Saskatchewan Roughrider fan. He loved outdoor activities including camping, boating, golfing, fishing and barbecuing you name it he loved it. He especially loved cooking and smoking meats and did it from the heart. He was always busy doing something whether it was working on the rigs, in the yard or in the kitchen.

Alf always knew how to put a smile on your face. He was kind hearted and a friendly giant, with a big heart and even bigger hug. At heart he was never judgemental or critical, rather he was encouraging and positive. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed him.

He was very knowledgeable in many things. His true passion in life was working in the oil and gas industry, where he spent most of the past 31 years. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. The only thing he loved more was his four children.

“You will be missed, never forgotten, and forever in our hearts.”

As per Alf’s wishes there will be no service, in lieu of service we would like to ask that on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at 5:00 pm you open your favorite beverage (Alf’s choice was a Coorslight) and make a toast to celebrate his life.
