January 15, 1931 – August 13, 2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alison Isabel Lloyd (nee Gough) on August 13, 2019 at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton at the age of 88 years.

Alison was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1931. She graduated  nursing school in 1955 and immigrated to Canada in 1956, where she began her career as an R.N. Alison worked in many locations during her 40 years as an R.N., but her time in New Zealand held a special place in her heart. She resided in Minburn, Alberta prior to settling in Redwater, Alberta. Alison leaves behind her three children, Valerie (Len), Vicki (Rod) and William (Lorelei); nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; her sister Jean; and her brother Michael (Christine).

Alison was predeceased by the love of her life and husband of thirty seven years, William; her parents
Dr. Wilfred Gough & Dr. Isabel Gough (nee King); brothers, John and Ninian; and her grandson, Randel.

We would like to thank the following, Terrice & Lennie Kinjerski, for keeping an eye on mom & welcoming her into their home for Xmas, Easter, & Thanksgiving for the past 15 years or so. Sharon Letwin, for visiting mom in hospital & her home on numerous occasions over the years, bringing her lovely gifts, and for just caring. Her neighbor Leo, for looking out for mom and always taking the time to chat with her when she was out and about. Debbie Chalifoux, who didn’t know mom prior to her stroke, but sat in the hospital with Valerie almost daily, right until the end, and was a constant source of support to her during this time.
