Geoffrey “Geoff” Thomas Jones

October 24, 1939 – November 23, 2018

Geoff passed away in his home in Gibbons, just as he would have wished. He started his life in Manchester, England where he loved to play soccer and cricket, and was a Boys’ Brigade Officer. This is where Geoff met Chris and they started their journey together as a family. Geoff brought his young family to Canada, a place of opportunities, and after some years in London, Ontario, they arrived in Gibbons, Alberta. Geoff made it his mission to contribute to this great town. On top of his busy work and family life, he was on the Gibbons Volunteer Fire Department, a long-time Town Councillor, a founding member of Gibbons Minor Soccer, just to mention a few of his endeavors. Most importantly, Geoff made memories with everyone he met and took pride in his family, friends, and community.

Geoff leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Chris, along with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind two children, Susan (Ed) and David (Victoria); seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Brendyn, Samantha, Jamie, Aiden, Kieran, and Harlow; and two great-grandchildren, Kai and Liam. Also, his extended family and friends who are like family, as well as nieces and nephews.

Geoff was predeceased by his parents, George and Florence; his brother, Gerald; and brother in-law, Stuart.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ryan Edward William Bandura on October 8, 2018 at age 32 years. Ryan was the kind of guy everyone knew and loved. He was funny, smart and loved to learn and build new things. Ryan left this world too soon but he died doing something he loved to do. When Ryan was young he wanted to be a equipment operator like his dad. When he and his dad worked together, and Ryan was just a labourer, his dad would allow him to jump in and learn . He turned out to be an amazing operator and blew everyone away with his talent. Ryan was loved by many.

Ryan loved his son more than anything in this world.
