October 4, 1943 ~ April 19, 2025

It is with great sadness the family of Gertrude Louise Kitchen (nee Denning) announces her passing on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the age of 81 years.Gertrude was born in Bath, New Brunswick (back of Divide) to Louis and Emily Denning. She grew up on a mixed farm in Divide and Upper Woodstock, New Brunswick. She later worked at the Whoa Daddy restaurant in Woodstock, NB where she met her husband of 55 years, Clifford.

Through Dad’s work with Shur-Gain they lived in multiple exotic Maritime locations: Woodstock, Sussex, Perth, Woodstock, Truro, and Sussex before Mom made the big move to Morinville. She worked as an EKG technician, medical records, receptionist, administrative assistant for a lawyer, typist for hire, Knorr consultant, and school bus driver extraordinaire.

Wherever they lived, Mom found ways to contribute to the community by volunteering with organizations such as the Elks Club, Salmon River Volunteer Fire Brigade, and the Royal Canadian Legion.

Since arriving in Morinville in 2021, she appreciated the new friends she made at her condo community and she enjoyed being able to connect with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Beth (Clem) Dubrule of Morinville AB, Stephen (June) Kitchen of Saskatoon SK, and Timothy (Rachel) Kitchen of Calgary AB; grandchildren, Carolyn (Leo) Giroux and their children, Brooke, Callie, and Morgan, Karra (Matt) Krywko and their children, Emmett, Wren, and Sawyer, Stephanie (Nick) Christensen and their children, Bennett and Sloane, Brandon (Kallie) Dubrule, Mikayla (Colin) Clarke and their son, Watson; Jordan Kitchen, Benjamin Kitchen, and Ella Kitchen; siblings, John (Margaret) Denning of Fredericton, NB, Dorothy Yackulic of Saskatoon, SK, Mary Jean Stewart of Edmonton, AB, and George Denning of Saskatoon, SK; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, Clifford Kitchen; parents, Louis and Emily Denning; siblings, Marie Wiggins (Houlton, Maine) and Nancy Jenkins (Saint John NB).
