Johanna was born in Erp, Noord Brabant, the Netherlands on April 8, 1925. She lived through WWII and shortly thereafter met her future husband, Harry. They were married at the historic St. Servasius Catholic Church in Erp on August 11, 1948. As times were very hard after the war, they embarked on their journey to make a new life in Canada and settled in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Johanna dedicated the majority of her life to making a loving home for her husband and eight children. She enjoyed sewing, baking, singing while she worked, and having tea with a few close friends.

Johanna is survived by all of her children, Connie Henn, Ted (Helga) Van Asseldonk, Harry (Judy)Van Asseldonk, Tina (Art) Ratcliffe, Adrian Van Asseldonk, Jane (Don) McNamara, Teresa (Darrell) Seibel, and Pat (Fred Ostrow) Van Asseldonk; as well as 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as two of her sisters who reside in the Netherlands, Mien van dan Tillaart and Jean van den Biggelaar.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Harry Van Asseldonk; her parents, Theodorus and Martina (nee Welten) van den Acker, one brother and 5 sisters.

Johanna will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all of her family.
