August 11, 1933 ~ August 18, 2022

It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to a beloved husband, father and Papa, Kevin O’Neill, who passed peacefully with his family by his side, on August 18, 2022, at the age of 89 years, after a battle with cancer.

Kevin was born in St. Brides, AB on August 11, 1933, where he spent his formative years and later retired in Redwater, AB. He met Elizabeth at the Rainbow Ballroom in Edmonton on New Years Eve, married November 24, 1956 and was happily married for 65 years. Kevin and Elizabeth were blessed with three daughters, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Papa Kevin started Pipelining at 14 years old and worked in the oil and gas industry for most of his life, which took him and Elizabeth all across Canada, where they built many lifelong friendships.

Over the years Kevin and Elizabeth spent many winters in Phoenix, travelled to Las Vegas, Hawaii and many trips across the United States visiting Elizabeth’s siblings.

Kevin was known for his loving smile, sparkling eyes and love to whistle. His greatest pride was his work and his family. Family get –togethers with his 10 brothers and sisters, children, partners, and grandchildren created life-long memories and bonds for all family members. He led a life worth celebrating and set an example worth emulating.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Shelley and Dee;

grandchildren, Candice (Dan), Shauna, Kevin, Owen; great grandchildren, Grayson and Ivy; siblings, Mary (Walter) Royal, Cathy Skakum, Noel (Casey) Martel , Sherry (Duke) Young and Noella (David) Thompson.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Cassie Martel and Arthur O’Neill; Step Father, Ernest Martel; brothers, Shaun O’Neill, Arthur O’Neill, Barney O’Neill, Hugh O’Neill, Omer Martel and daughter, Colleen Malonik.

In lieu of flowers please offer an act of kindness to another in memory of Kevin.
