March 26, 1947 ~October 25, 2021

Wilfred “Wilf” Allarie passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 with his loving wife and family by his side.

Wilf is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gayle; daughter, Tammy (Jason); son, Trevor; sisters, Dora (Paul) Schira, Dorothy Pfeifer and Margaret (Frank) Hiebert; granddaughter, Jessica; 2 grandsons, Ryves and Lucas; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Wilf was predeceased by his parents, Roger and Mary Allarie; 4 brothers, George, Cyril, Edward, and Gordon; 2 sisters, Louise (Dave) Martin; and Bernadette (Dave) Sykora; brother-in-laws, Alex Paley and Leonard Pfeifer.

When Wilf told stories of when he was young, he made life on the farm (Boggy Creek, MB) sound like so much fun. He always lit up with excitement and pride when he spoke of his experiences hunting and trapping. He helped on the family farm from a young age, then moved on to clearing bush through his mid 20’s. One winter, in the Roblin, MB hockey arena, he met Gayle. They dated, fell in love and were married. Work became available in Moose Jaw, SK, where he started his career in carpentry. This led them to Edmonton, AB and then on to Gibbons, AB where he began to maintain the ice at the local hockey arena. Wilf grew up playing baseball and horse shoes and enjoyed watching family and friends sing and play music. He was often found at a baseball diamond, soccer field, bowling alley or lacrosse game though he spent most days at the hockey rink. His love for the game was evident. But he found the most joy in spending time with everyone!
