November 27, 1974 ~ April 29, 2026

Harold Penney passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the age of 51 years. He leaves behind his wife, Bernice Gordon; his mother, Cheryl; his brother, Ken; his nephew, Austin; along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends who will miss him deeply. Family and friendship were at the heart of Harold’s life.

Born in Ontario in 1974, Harold came to Alberta with his family in 1981 and grew up surrounded by the friendships that meant so much to him. Known for his quiet loyalty, kindness, and compassion, Harold preferred to live simply and support others without seeking recognition. He loved joking with family and friends and made people feel welcome and valued. 

An avid golfer, he enjoyed both the game and the company that came with it. Music was also an important part of his life, whether singing karaoke, playing guitar, or sharing favourite songs. He enjoyed online gaming and was a lifelong fan of Star Wars.

His neighbours, community, and the many animals drawn to him mattered greatly to Harold. He believed in showing up for others and ran for town council to help make his community stronger. Harold also had a deep interest in history and recently became passionate about researching his Indigenous roots and teaching himself the Algonquin language to help preserve it for future generations.

In honour of Harold, guests are encouraged to dress casually and comfortably — much like Harold, who was happiest in golf shirts, shorts, sandals, or jeans.
