April 27, 1959 – October 28, 2026
Charles Joseph “Chuck” Neill was born in Kamloops, British Columbia, and passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 67 years, in St. Albert, Alberta.
The fourth of five children born to Aaron and Edna Neill, Chuck spent his younger years in BC’s interior before his family settled in Valemount, BC.
It was in Valemount that Chuck met Maureen Keough. After 11 years together, they married in Vernon, BC in 1992 and eventually settled in Morinville, Alberta, where they raised their two daughters. Over the years, Chuck and Mo’s family grew to include two sons-in-law and five cherished grandchildren. Chuck loved being a Papa and delighted in sharing his knowledge, stories, and love of adventure with his growing family.
A lifelong learner with an adventurous spirit, Chuck worked in forestry, emergency medical services, construction, and park services before graduating with honours from BCIT as a Biomedical Engineering Technologist. After almost a decade on the road, he joined the University of Alberta Hospital in 2001, where he took great pride in his work and the relationships he built.
Chuck embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm. He loved gardening, learning and teaching karate, where he earned his fourth-degree black belt, travelling, hunting, fishing, and sharing his knowledge and skills with others.
Chuck treasured the friendships he built throughout his life and was always eager to lend a hand, share a story, or celebrate the accomplishments of those around him.
Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Aaron and Edna Neill, and his sisters, Helen and Kathleen.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of over 45 years, Maureen; his daughters, Meagan (Damon), and their children, Dominik, Jackson, and Natalie; Christine (Scott), and their children, Tillie and Audrey; brother John, sister Elizabeth, and their families; along with his extended family and many dear friends.
Chuck leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, curiosity, and a belief that life is meant to be experienced, learned from, and shared with others.
