July 1, 1969 – February 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Yaceyko, who left us far too soon on Sunday, February 2, 2025, in St. Albert, Alberta, at the age of 55 years.

Born on July 1, 1969, in St. Paul, Alberta, Peter was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Michele Yaceyko (nee Pretty); his cherished daughters Sloan (fiancé, Edward Lalonde) and Shahn (boyfriend, Kaiden Nicholson); his mother Elizabeth Yaceyko; and his siblings Marion Rino (Mike), John Yaceyko (Claire), Pauline Brown (Tim) and Michael Yaceyko (Melody); brother-in-law Edward Jegou; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his father, Emil Yaceyko, and his sister, Joanne Jegou.

Peter grew up in Fort McMurray, where he met the love of his life, Michele, and together they built a beautiful family. He dedicated much of his career to Suncor before moving to the Edmonton area in 2005, where he worked for Enbridge and later Shell Scotford in Fort Saskatchewan. In Sturgeon County, he and his family created a home filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories.

A true outdoorsman at heart, Peter found joy and peace in nature. Whether hunting, fishing, camping, or golfing, he embraced the great outdoors and shared his passion with those he loved. His kindness and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. To his family and friends, Peter was more than a provider—he was a pillar of strength, a source of unwavering support, and a man who valued deep, meaningful connections. His love for his family was boundless, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
