April 18 1961 – May 23 2026

Hélène Daly passed away peacefully and painlessly on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Gene Zwozdesky Centre at the age of 65 years old.

Hélène will be honoured in her memory by her husband of 45 years, Kerrie; her children, Jason (Maya), and Elise; and her grandchildren, Killian and Tobin. She is survived by her siblings, Annette (Fred) Harmatys, Normand (Annette) Nolette, Armande (Robin) McCormack, and Carmen (Marcel) Mousseau; sister-in-law, Tressa (Barry) Hiebert; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other numerous relatives, and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Armand Joseph Nolette and Lillian Marie Crawford (née Desrosiers); nephew, Corporal Zachery Wilfrid McCormack; and granddaughter, Rowan Jaylin Daly.

Hélène was born in Edmonton and grew up in Sherwood Park, and moved to Morinville in 1983. Along with her husband Kerrie, she raised their two children in Morinville. Hélène was so proud of her children and never failed to tell anyone who asked after them.

Hélène had enrolled in 1979 at the School of Radiation Therapy Technology at the Cross Cancer Institute for Radiation Therapy. She graduated in 1981 and worked at the Cross Cancer Institute for 44 years. Hélène was known to be very knowledgeable in this field and was respected by doctors and peers alike. Hélène had a vision for the Department of Radiation Oncology to not separate the Radiation Therapists, Dosmetrists, Physicists and Oncologists but rather to be a cohesive group. Her legacy in the Computer Targeting Department (CTD) will be felt for years to come.

In her earlier years, Hélène was known to be tap dance and a guitar instructor, and was known to be a talented cross-stitcher and knitter who made all sorts of wonders. During the spring and summer months, Hélène was most likely to be gardening and tending to her tulips while enjoying the weather in her rocking chair. Hélène was known by her family and friends to be an adventurous soul, and a thrill seeker. Whether it was watching a Horror film with her son or having a “thrilling” trip to look at rocks with her daughter.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Cross Cancer Institute, Paramedics and Fire Services operating in Morinville, staff at Assisted Living Alberta, and the staff at Gene Zwozdesky Centre for their care and dedication to Hélène.
